Category: book Nook
Hi Zoners! By sheer accident (while doing a powerpoint presentation for Garbiel Garcia Marquez) I came across a website that offers free full-text ebooks. These books are classics and thus are not copyrighted and this means that everyone can access them and read them. It doesn't matter if you are in the USA, Europe or any other part of the world (for as long as you have internet). The URL is http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/etexts/index.htm this URL will bring you to a page where all writers and their available books are listed alphabetically. Take your pick and enjoy the read. Star
Sounds cool. I'll have to check it out!
I went to ter site and every book i clicked on had a amount in pounds. Tell me where I am suppose to click for the free books?

The link above is correct I checked it again today. When at this page, do not search the books here (these are books you can buy) but instead look for the Etext link. E t e x t . This link will take where the free books are. The authors are listed alphabetically and under each author is the list of books offered as etext that you can read online or paste and copy (it's in plain text) and save in a file in your computer. I am sorry about the confussion. I don't use jaws so when I look at a webpage it is different than someone who uses jaws. Star
Works fine for me. I had tried clicking on the etext link a couple of days ago and it didn't work, it is now though. Thank you for letting me know about this site!
Sounds nifty, will check it out. Thanks ya.
Thanks star, oh boy, another free book site! don't know if they have anything gutenberg hasn't got, but love checking outpossible new sites in what I'm interested in.
wonderwoman
are there any non fiction sites too. like autobiography books etc?
I don't know. But if I come across one I will post it here. Is there a particular person/book you had in mind?
Has anyone read any of the books on this website using Jaws? Did it work? Just curious to know.
Yes. I found and read a few chapters of Peter Pan, and it works fine with JAWS.

hey star, very grateful for the site you provided. Yes, it works perfectly with JAWS. I am flollowing my "the phantom of the opera" excitedly, and it is cool!!! Will read other books when I finish with this one. Thanks.
for those who wants something nonfiction, you can try www.bartleby.com. It's a cool site and I enjoyed the books there. But, since they are mostly heavy stuff, I put it aside for awhile. Do check it out.
Thanks for your replies guys. I am glad it works and more glad you are enjoying reading the books there. Star
